ANANDA CONTINUES JUST DIFFERENTLY You will soon see a slight change to our website. We have decided to transition the online store to a resource and information site.So while you can not purchase products, you can still have access to the incredible depth of information! We have 16 years of research, and useful tidbits about Essentials oils, CO2 extracts, Carrier Oils and […]
Developed by our owner originally to manage ‘shin splints’, this formula can work amazingly well on any injury to the muscular-skeletal system. In fact, the blend seems to act almost instantly, likely due to the speed at which essential oils pass through the skin and into the underlying tissues.
What is it about ibuprofen that gives it its pain-relieving ability? Its anti-inflammatory action. The same goes for many essential oils – they have potent, rapid anti-inflammatory activity.
We’ve included ideas for two blends here. We suggest including Helichrysum in the formula specifically for spot pains and injuries. While the cost may seem high, for acute conditions, nothing really beats Helichrysum for it’s regenerative potential. It contains the highest amount of safe ketones of any essential oil, thought to stimulate cellular regeneration.
ALL these oils are known for their inflammation-reducing activity, so, for larger areas – entire aching quadriceps muscles, for example – one may omit the Helichrysum, and have an excellent pain-relieving formula.
The essential oils that are included in the blends:
Birch – Contains approx. 97% Methyl Salicilate, actually liquid aspirin
Frankincene – Contains boswellic acids, researched for their anti-inflammatory effect
Helichrysum – Strongly anti-inflammatory and regenerative
German Chamomile – Known for it’s strong anti-inflammatory action
Plai – Researched for it’s pain relieving action
Here’s the formulas, based in any carrier oil you like, though Fractionated Coconut Oil is very easily absorbed, and is low cost. The formula is for 1oz of blend, made by first adding the essential oils to a bottle, then ‘topping off’ with the carrier oil. You may alter the blend as described above by omitting the Helichrysum if you like:
Note that we highly recommend measuring essential oils with measuring pipettes, rather than attempting to count drops per milliliter. While with many droppers, you may find each ml of water will have 20-25 drops, but essential oils, because of their different viscosity, typically have 30-35 drops. See our ‘Bottles and Pipettes’ page for measuring pipettes.
We find only small amounts of the blends are needed – just enough to be absorbed at any one time. Essential oils are rapidly assimilated and processed by the body, and you can reapply every 2 to 3 hours as necessary.Share Share
