If Rosehip Seed Oil isn’t a staple in your medicine cabinet, you may be asking yourself … Why?
Rosehip Seed oil is an excellent choice to:
- Reduce signs of aging
- Improve hydration of the skin
- Reduce sun damage
- And New Research (see below) shows how it can reduce arthritic pain
We use Rosehip Seed oil in many of our facial blends. This year’s harvest comes cold-pressed from organic Rosehip Seeds grown in Chile. We’d like to call Rosehip seed oil the superfood for the skin! It’s loaded with tons of vitamins, antioxidants and essential fatty acids that synergistically work to make it one superb nourishing oils for your skin, hair and nails.
Rosehip Seed oil has been known for it’s skin enhancing benefits. It has shown an ability to penetrate deep layers of the skin, which helps improve weathered, sun drenched dermis by feeding it with hefty portions of Vitamins A, C, E, and plenty of antioxidants and essential fatty acids. Its affects, noticeable after applying for only 2 weeks, certainly got it noticed as a key ingredient in daily use to rejuvenate and hydrate the skin.
Rosehip Seed oil is also a powerful anti-aging oil. It has shown it can help diminish scars, including acne, surgical, burns and stretch marks and sooth sun burn. It also seems to lift deep wrinkles, correct UV damage and sun spots. It’s hydration affects can restore brittle nails, as well as dry and damaged hair. Should you have dry, itchy skin like dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis, you may want to add it to your lotions or baths. Call it comfort in a bottle!
This Year’s Harvest of Rosehip Seed Oil is In!
It’s multi-use applications are easy and economical enough to incorporate into your daily life. See our DIY Recipes below!
Rosehip Seed Oil for Inflammation
Rosehip Seed oil a powerhouse for the skin, is also very beneficial as an anti-inflammatory, offering pain relief.
Studies show that when ingested, Rosehip Seed oil reduces pain in those with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Laboratory experiments revealed that rose-hip extract inhibits lipid oxidation in vitro and reduces the chemotaxis and chemoluminescence of leucocytes, having anti-inflammatory affects. This study spurred other studies on the effectiveness of Rosehip Seed for pain relief. The studies stated that “Patients whom suffered from osteoarthritis reported that physical symptoms declined. Data from a randomized controlled trial indicate not only that pain significantly declined but also flexion of the hip improved in the active treatment group.” The conclusion found that the anti-inflammatory properties of rosehip are useful as a treatment for osteoarthritis.
Rejuvenate your Skin from Damaging Sun Exposure
The Vitamin A in Rosehip seed oil helps moisturize dry, mature skin. The bonus is – it has a power-packed effect due to its abundance of essential fatty acids (EFAs), which are essential to keeping our skin healthy and strong. Our bodies don’t make EFAs, so we have to get them through our food, or we can absorb them through our skin. The skin is able to absorb Rosehip Seed oil super fast. It doesn’t leave any greasy residue and that dry, itchy skin can feel better fairly quickly, and of course over time. If you happen to spend a ton of time outdoors, in the sun, or in inclement conditions, Rosehip Seed oil has also shown to boost elastin levels and cell regeneration.

Include the Magic of Rosehip Seed Oil in Concentration
We carry a Supercritical Co2 Extract of Rosehip Seed, which will boost the therapeutic benefits of your blend, and assist in improving the texture and luminosity of your skin.
Nourish your brittle nails
Blend 10 drops Lemon essential oil, and 1 ounce of Rosehip Seed oil. Gently massage into finger nails and cuticles before retiring for the night. You can also wear cotton mitts for deeper penetration.
Smooth and nurture frizzy locks
Make a hair oil with 12 drops Rosemary verbenone, mix with 1 ounce of Rosehip seed oil. Warm 1 Tablespoon of this blend to a desired temperature (this can be done by placing your bottle of oil in a warm water bath), massage the oil into hair and scalp, let it soak for at least 30 minutes, then wash your hair thoroughly. Your hair will be revitalized and soft, and have a nice healthy shine to it.
All over Body care
Sustain healthy and hydrated skin throughout your body. Make your own lotion with 4 ounces of Organic Coconut/Jojoba Cream base to 1-2 ounces of Super Skin Care base oil. Depending on your needs or thickness preference of the lotion itself, you can increase or decrease the amount of Super Skin Care base oil.
Our organic varieties, available as a carrier oil and as a Supercritical CO2 Extract, will add amazing benefits to any blend you choose to make. Do add it to your aromatherapy toolbox, your skin and body will love you for it! We’d love to hear how it works for you, too, so let us know so we can continue to share the word.
As always, thanks for reading! Keep having an amazing day.
