The dilution ratio you’ve mentioned is for skin applications. Most undiluted essential oils can cause skin sensitization, and some can even burn the skin. You can use 0.5 – 2% essential oils for face blends (3 – 12 drops), and 3 – 5% essential oils for body lotions, massage blends, etc. (18 drops – 30 drops).
To scent your clothes you can simply add 15 – 20 drops on a cloth and throw it in the dryer with your clothes. Depending on the essential oil and its power, you can then adjust your drops as you wish. You don’t really need to calculate the drops for dryers or washing machines. Just know that 10 drops of Tea Tree oil for instance, are enough to run a disinfecting cycle of your washing machine.
