    Hi.

I’ve been dealing with gingivitis for a long time and had gum surgery about 6 mouths ago.

I recently got thyme which is supposed to help with this condition. I blended a few drops, along with a few drops of lavender (to further dilute the thyme) and a few drops of peppermint in a small cup of warm water and use it as a rinse after I brush.

I noticed an improvement in my gums but on the thyme information page a caution is don’t use if you have high blood pressure. I do and take a low dose blood pressure medication.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks.

    Hi Colorz,

Because you’re not swallowing the Thyme essential oil, there should be no concern with regards to your blood pressure – it’s really just rinsing your teeth and gums, eliminating bacteria. Haven’t tried the thyme yet, but proud of you for doing it!
