About The Plant

Also known as the 'Scotch' and 'Norway' Pine, this evergreen tree grows up to 40 meters tall with deeply fissured reddish-brown bark. Native to the dense forests of Russia and northern Europe, it is cultivated for essential oil production in central and southern European countries, notably Austria and Finland.

About The Oil

Limonene, dipentene and bornyl acetate have been reported to be the main constituents responsible for its antimicrobial properties.

Pine essential oil has been used in herbal medicine for centuries. One such use was to add it to baths to alleviate nervous exhaustion and circulatory disorders.
